SCAVENGER HUNT - 04.01.12

Okay, this is getting shameful.
I am here for another hunt, and YES, I am still going through and editing vacation pictures.  So, I am sorry to say,  you are getting more Florida pictures.  But, I saved some good ones for you..... so hopefully you'll hold all the boos and jeers ;D 

And honestly, next week might not be much better.  I did a very NECESSARY but SAD thing yesterday.  I dropped my camera off at the Nikon repair shop for a thorough cleaning and service.  It had to be done, yes, but I feel completely lost without it.  Sniff.    Lets just hope they have a quick turnover time!

Did I mention how AMAZING the clouds are in Florida.  I loved watching the active skies there... never a dull moment!

Okay, there are techinically more than seven... but I felt like the main focus was on seven of the pelicans flying by.  They were so close, it seemed like I could reach out touch them.  (To give you an idea of how close, I took this shot with a 50mm.)

Pelicans gathered below us on a dock.  We were wondering why they all flocked over when we were standing there chatting.  Apparently, this is right were the fisherman stand to clean their fish.   Opps.  Sorry birdies.

INSTA - FUN

HI!  It's Friday and I have the best news to report:  I JUST woke up! 
That is monumental.... I slept until almost 8am!  It's cold and rainy here in Chicago.... PERFECT sleeping weather, if you ask me.   My  little guy must agree because he just woke up too. 

My iPad and I found lots of photos this week, it is Spring Break, afterall.... wanna see?

LAZY DAY AT THE BEACH

Guess what? 
I have more Florida pictures to share.  (I'm winding down, I promise.)
These are from the day we ventured over to Sanibel Island.   

Man, is it ever beautiful and PEACEFUL there!  Or at least it was until my kids arrived.  Hee.


These boys can keep BUSSSSSSY at a beach.   (Gotta love that!)

And when they needed some help, Grandpa came to the rescue.   (Gotta love that, too!)



Dylan was concentrating so hard on retrieving water for the castle moat that I had to keep apologizing to the continuous stream of walkers as they passed.  Let's just say that a four-year-old who is on a SERIOUS mission cannot be bothered to look out for people walking by.  He nearly look out a few as he scurried back and forth.

And then they discovered that there were seashells to gather.  Lots and lots and lots to gather.  Chase was fairly selective with his finds.  Dylan, on the other hand, just kept scooping up handfuls and little pieces. 

And how about those fancy sand buckets?!?!  (I just have to tease my Mom a little about the Folger's cans!)   When their buckets broke after the first day, she came to the rescue with those babies.  They actually worked pretty nice for seashell collecting... and water hauling.

I love how small he looks compared to Dad. 

Yet, in this one......

The flock of Pelicans feeding was quite a spectacle.  Chase was right in the line of fire at one point.  Yikes.  Luckily, they didn't make off with him.

BEACH FUN

Hello.  It's Monday.  The first official day of spring break.  And guess what?  It is 40 degrees out and raining.   Booo.  We've been so spoiled around these parts that 40's seems cruel. 

So, let's go somewhere a bit warmer, shall we?  I have some beach photos to share.   These were from our first full day in Florida.  My parents took us to a beach that is right around the corner from their place.


When I ask to get a photo of the boys, this is what I get.  Errr, I've learned to stop asking!
