LOVE THOSE FISHIES

This past visit concludes the year of the Shedd for us. 
We squeezed four visits out of our season passes (not too shabby!), and I promise you won't be subjected to anymore fishy pictures around these parts....... AFTER this post anyway.   Oh wait, soon the boys will be back to frequent fishing trips.  So, until then.

And one last one, this isn't a great picture, (too many little bodies in the way) but it was a highlight of the trip, so I'm going to include it anyway.  This fish was totally enthralled with the kids' glow necklaces.  (Who know!)  He just sat there, right next to the glass for like 10 minutes.   It was quite amusing!  We had a crowd of kids watching this all unfold.  The boys loved it.

So, that's it.  No more fishies!! 
For a little while anyway.  Ha.

SCAVENGER HUNT 02.26.12

I know this is SUPER LATE.... but I gonna get 'er posted anyway. 
We spent the last two days either in the car or in a water park, so I'm a tad behind schedule. 


1.  CROSSED

His head, it's been crossed.  By the skull and cross bones!

2.  A GLIMPSE

I was trying to capture a glimpse of Dylan laying in the tub, and this is what I got instead!  He is a tad camera shy these days. 

3.  HANDWRITTEN

Chase was practicing for his spelling test the other day.

4.  BLISS

If you aren't a Momma to two busy little boys, just trust me, this is BLISS.  It's 7:45PM, the boys are clean and happy, and bed time is right around the corner. 

5.  GRAY

We took the boys to the Aquarium the other day.  I thought a Beluga Whale in mid jump would work well for gray.

INSTA-FRIDAY

Hi. 
It's Friday..... and it's snowing like crazy.   The phones rang, all of them, at 5:30am to report that there's NO SCHOOL!  (The automated phone tree rings our home phone and all the cell phones listed.  It got pretty lively around here!)   As ticked as I was about the early wake up call,  I'm very relieved that we have no where to go!  So, I'm gonna stay in my jammies for as long as possible, drink my coffee, and catch up on some blogging.  
(I'm doing a little fist pump right now.)

Here's what my iPad captured this week:





1.  At a birthday party with Chase.... I snagged a piece of cake.  How could I resist?!?!  Isn't it pretty?
2.  Still at the party.   Love the rainbow streamers.
3.  This was in my rear view mirror when I went to leave the house the other day.  What a pleasant surprise!
4.  Playing in the sandbox.  In the middle of February!  It is just beautiful out.
5.  Cookie.  Mmmm. 
6.  Pretzels.  Mmmm.  I took lots of photos of food this week.
7.  Okay, this is more like it.  A blizzard hits.
8.  We got about 4 inches of heavy WET snow.  So glad Honey is here to do the shoveling.  (Usually, he manages to miss these things.)
9.  At least it's purdy!  It looks like a winter wonderland! 

That was fun, are you craving sugar now?  I know I am after all those sweet treat pictures.  Darn it.

I find it particularly fitting because my hubby is a professional grass grower.   And the greener, the better.

Are you ready for some Scavenger Hunt fun?!?! 

I found my items, I think.  A couple of these were tough.  So, I had to really SSSSTTTTRRREEETTTCCCHHHH a bit.    Hope that's okay.

We made paper hats at the boys' Valentine's parties this year.  I cut out 60 of those babies!

Another straw shot.  I should be ashamed of myself.    I have GOT to find some new photo inspiration around here.

FIVE THINGS I LOVE ABOUT YOU

Happy VALENTINE'S DAY!
I have to tell you, I feel so blessed and fortunate to be spending this Valentine's Day with my three favorite guys.  Not because they have showered me with cards, flowers, balloons, and chocolates.  Hmm, actually there was none of that.  We just aren't sappy romantics in this house.  I'm of the mindset that I would rather be told (DAILY) that I am loved, than read it in a card.  And I would rather be showered (DAILY) with hugs and kisses than flowers or chocolates.   


Dave did run out and get me heart shaped donuts, and I got him chocolate golf balls.   That's about as crazy as we get!

So,  just wanted to share a few of the things that I love MOST about my special Valentines: 

1.  His sense of HUMOR.  He keeps us rolling.  Constantly.
2.  The way he acts like a big KID most of the time.
3.  That he is 100% devoted to being a Dad.
4.  That he is so driven and a hard worker.  He is CAPABLE, HANDY, a FIXER, a MENDER, A DOER. 
5.  He's a great story teller. 


1.  He's a FORCE to be reckoned with.  We tend to butt heads over this one, but I still love it about him.
2.  His emerging sense of humor.  And man is he ever getting sarcastic.  He must get that from his Father!
3.  He's incredibly smart... and mature.   It's scary!!!! 
4.  His passion for all sports that involve a board.  His skateboard and snowboard, oh and he informed me that we wants a wake board and a surfboard too. 
5.  As much as he doesn't like to admit it, he's as cute as a Button!


1.  He's adorable. 
2.  He's lovable and cuddly and so silly!
3.  He often is chattering away, singing or dancing.... or all three!
4.  He worships his Daddy and his big Brother too.
5.   His cute wittle lisp. 

Happy Valentine's Day to all of you out there.  I hope your heart is HEAVY with LOVE today.  I know mine is!

SCAVENGER HUNT - 02.12.12

Hello.
It's that time again....
Are you ready for some hunting?!?
How's your weekend going?   Ours got totally derailed.  Chaser has been running a fever for two solid days now.  I feel so bad for him, poor Bubba.   It got up to almost 104 today.  Scary.

Anyway, here's what I found for this week's hunt.

1.  FACIAL FEATURE

This is probably more spiky than spicy, but I thought it still worked for this one. 

4.  GOLD

I was stumped, big time, for this prompt.  Until I glanced at my camera strap and DING-DING-DING.  That's right, I shoot Nikon.  And....did you hear?!?  A big fancy new Nikon hit the market this week.   Not that I will be getting the D800 anytime soon, but a girl can dream, can't she?!?!?

5.  FABRIC

I spent a little time today hot gluing felt onto pencils to make them look like little arrows.   I am such a nerd.   But I thought it was kinda clever.  Wait, does felt count as fabric?    Hope so, it's all I got.
