SCAVENGER HUNT - 04.01.12

Okay, this is getting shameful.
I am here for another hunt, and YES, I am still going through and editing vacation pictures.  So, I am sorry to say,  you are getting more Florida pictures.  But, I saved some good ones for you..... so hopefully you'll hold all the boos and jeers ;D

And honestly, next week might not be much better.  I did a very NECESSARY but SAD thing yesterday.  I dropped my camera off at the Nikon repair shop for a thorough cleaning and service.  It had to be done, yes, but I feel completely lost without it.  Sniff.    Lets just hope they have a quick turnover time!

[CLOUDS]

Did I mention how AMAZING the clouds are in Florida.  I loved watching the active skies there... never a dull moment!

[SUN FLARE]

Catching the Sunset.

[SEVEN]
DSC_7531_edited-1
Okay, there are techinically more than seven... but I felt like the main focus was on seven of the pelicans flying by.  They were so close, it seemed like I could reach out touch them.  (To give you an idea of how close, I took this shot with a 50mm.)

[HIGH ANGLE]

[LOW ANGLE]

Pelicans gathered below us on a dock.  We were wondering why they all flocked over when we were standing there chatting.  Apparently, this is right were the fisherman stand to clean their fish.   Opps.  Sorry birdies.

So, that about does it from me.
I hope you have a GREAT Sunday.
And do head over this way for more hunting.......

Next week's list of items:
1.  New
2.  Life
3.  Fragrant
4.  Pink
5.  Obvious

I love your FL shots and won't boo or jeer at all :). Those clouds are so pretty BUT...I LOVE the sparkle on the ocean water too.

Keep those FL photos coming, love them. My son said to me all trucks have 3 wheels. Same with your pelicans. There are seven. And then some.

Love the sun flare and the pelicans. Great shots. I need to have my camera cleaned at some point. I imagine that would be hard to drop off.

You did save some good ones! These are fabulous--especially that gorgeous sunset.

I think I need to come to Florida just to capture a sunset like that!

Lovely shots. Makes me want to visit Florida. I love the Cloud shot, the way the water is rippling underneath the clouds. I also love the angle of the palm tree shot and the look of the bark. I never knew that is what a trunk of a palm tree looks like.

I haven't been to Florida (aside from a 4 hour wait to board a cruise) since 2003!! And if I remember one thing it is the amazing clouds rolling over the water! Thank you for bringing back that gorgeous memory!! Love the pelicans too, such fun birds, and now I am thinking of Finding Nemo!

Great shots. The sunset is beautiful. I love how you caught the pelicans flying by - so clear! They are a little freaky looking, aren't they?

I'm happy to see FL pics. Makes me think warm. Love that first shot...and Brooke, that way more than 7 pelicans no matter how you look at-but I like the shot anyway. Have a great day....oh and the sunflare-yum.

Great pictures this week as always. Clouds over the water looks great. Thanks.

Love your sun flare picture! It is breathtaking!

I also love the palm tree, which I think is actually low angle (since high angle is a shot from above).

The shot of the pelicans is great, regardless of how many there are!

Amazing pictures! Love the sunset!
Looks like you had a fantastic vacation.

PS...I had to drop my Nikon off for a few days last summer to have it cleaned. I felt really lost without it so I know how you feel.

I love them all, and you are making me want to go back! Well, that, and the cold weather I returned home to. BOO. I love the skies in Florida too. I'm wondering how many Florida posts I can do without being annoying?! :)

You can NOT make me pick a favorite. All of these shots are beautiful and FULL of color. I do have a special place in my heart for sunrises and sunsets though.

Those are absolutely stunning Brooke! The thought of parting from my camera like that gives me instant & severe anxiety :) Maybe I can hold off until I get a good backup or upgrade.

I loved watching the pelicans fly when we lived in FL. They looked like pteradactyls! :)

Seriously, all of your photos are amazing. I can't pick a favorite! Hope you get your camera back soon. I only got my DSLR a few weeks ago, and I already can't imagine being without it for just a day.
